Heather and Blair are ENGAGED!!! These two are so fun to work with, Heather is nothing but smiles and energy which I love and you can tell how much these two fit together right off the bat. They are getting married this June and I cannot wait to be a part of their beautiful day. But until then, it’s time to enjoy their Allerton Park engagement session….

Today it’s Ariel’s debut on the blog! Ariel, her mom and I had a fantastic time at Forsyth Park and around downtown Decatur creating her senior portraits. Her session kicked off with a bang with a snake sighting which propelled me and her mom into full on girl screams and ‘evacuation mode’ …. I took off so fast I left my lighting gear in the dust (Ariel who was unphased and laughing at our over the top reactions saved the day by going back over to the snake zone to rescue my gear!). Needless to say I think there’s one area of Forsyth park I think we’ll avoid from now on (we noticed quite a few holes that I’m now convinced were a little snake neighborhood – AHHH).

Teri & Jake’s wedding album design is complete and I’m so excited to show off their beautiful wedding day with you guys today. Rain could not stand in the way of this couple’s Hickory Point Golf Course wedding! Under the beautiful pavilion guests stayed dry and we were able to create all the images these two wanted between the downpours, a little rain can’t stop love.

Katlyn was one of our stunning 2016 senior clients (See here session HERE) and this fall it was time to get the whole family in front of the camera. These girls are the sweetest and I had a blast hanging out with Katlyn and her mom for her portraits so I was thrilled to meet the guys in their lives for this go round.
Fall was a little odd this year so surprisingly this late October session is rocking a lot of green foliage but I think it ended up working perfectly with their olive wardrobe! Plus, despite some crazy wind we caught a lovely sunset.

I love meeting new clients, but there is something really special about repeat clients. Having the chance to watch families grow and change over the years is a pretty awesome part of this job and I’m excited to have worked with this adorable group for the last 4-5 years to create their annual family portraits.
It’s rare these days with our busy lives that I find families who do make the time to get in front of the camera EVERY year and I’m so glad these guys do. I’ve watch Cruz (the littlest) grow from a baby into a spunky toddler and energetic little boy. Chloe is growing into quite the young lady and is so helpful on session both with her brothers and even with my gear that she might just have to start tagging along with me on sessions for the extra hands. And Ryne (who never used to smile for the camera) is getting used to this whole photo thing every year and is now a pretty suave little man!
For the first time this year we decided to do something a little Christmas themed for these guys as well as inlcuding in their pup since we hadn’t done that in a few years.
The McCoy’s have a pretty good rhythm in place for updating their focal wall art pieces in the home. We have a designed a gallery wall for them with a large focal piece and a series of smaller images as well. Last year we updated their smaller pieces and this year (with the dog) it was time to update the large wall art (with the one below!).
Families don’t feel bad if it’s been 1 year or 10 years since your last family portrait!
