I love that our website had a fabulous way for us to not only highlight client images but also their words and feedback but as I’ve been busy working on creating images, designing albums and completing the day to day tasks of running the business I’ve not updated our site, and especially the reviews section, as often as I would like. And to make it more fun I’m entering every review we receive TODAY (3/29/15) in a drawing to win some of my favorite things (Starbucks cards, chocolate, coffee mugs, mini sessions and more!).

| Custom-Designed Portrait Albums | Seniors, Families, Newborns, Weddings, and MORE |

Whoa! You all know I LOVE our custom-designed albums and I’ve been designing away for these recent clients (with a stack of more to finish up this month too!). I wanted to take a second to show you some of what I’ve been designing recently.

I’m excited about the evolution of my style especially in album designs. While I would call these anything but boring or plain I have been leaning toward a simpler aesthetic recently. I like to select 1-3 elements like a background, texture, pattern, text, or shape and then stick with those couple elements in various ways throughout the album so that we can let the images shine but still infuse some personality to the design as well.

Soooo as I take a break from working on Samantha’s senior album AND Heather & Cody’s guestbook today I thought I’d pop in here to share some of these recent designs!

I love how creative we get to be when clients book our Couture session! This session is 5 hours long and if that sounds like a LOT it’s because it is, but it means we get to do so much without worrying about time… lots of locations, lots of outfits, even lots of people!

And we got all that in for Allie’s session. By far my favorite part of Allie’s session is the personalization she added by selecting locations like her old home that really made it about HER. Plus, including her best friends, sister, mom and dog meant we had a blast with all her favorite people!

Her album is being hand crafted in Italy as we speak and I cannot wait to have the finished product in soon. Take a look at some of our favorite images and a few album designs too…

So one of my most favorite things about my job is getting to share in huge milestone moments in my clients lives and getting to watch their families grow and change over the years. I went to high school with Pam and a few years ago her and Doug road tripped it up here to Decatur to have me create their engagement portraits (seriously humbling to have someone willing to drive 4+ hours for me to create their images!). I then had the chance to photograph their beautiful wedding in my home town of Jefferson City, MO and got to do what I don’t get to often and that’s photograph on the capital steps (where I shot some of my very first portraits when starting my business in high school).

Anyways…… fast forward to now and this lovely couple now has an absolutely adorable little boy! And once again I’ve had the honor to photograph a huge milestone in their lives (like HUGE… I totally get this now that we have #babyB in our lives). These two will make fabulous parents and I cannot wait to cuddle this little angel at 4, 8, 12 months and then again for his second birthday (it’s already in the books ya’ll, it’s happening!).

So without further adieu about about we see some newborn cuteness?!?!

Let me introduce you to the Dahn Family!!! You all know I LOVE LOVE LOVE when I can talk clients into bringing the WHOLE family to session and that means those furry family members too! Pretty much once I find out you have pets I set about trying to convince you that NOT bringing them to session is like leaving your 2 year old son out of the photos (which we know you’re not going to do!).

I absolutely loved working with this beautiful family and am so excited to share their images with you! And seriously go check out what this family does through Pawprints Ministries!
